Curly Hair Tips?!?!?!?!?

just give me all u know bout tight, curly hair? and tips/products/brushing/anythign else? what are some ways to calm it down? hairstyles? ahhh.thans!=]Curly Hair Tips?!?!?!?!?
I hated my hair for my whole life until I -finally- learned how to take care of it a few years ago. There's lots of things you should know, but I'll just start with some basics:

First, washing. Curly hair is super fragile and the harsh sulfates in shampoo are too harsh to use on curly hair daily. (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, the main product in most shampoos, is the same thing used in dish detergent! Would you wash your hair with that?) Shampoo once a week, maximum. On the days you don't shampoo, use conditioner. For best results, add gel and other products to -dripping wet- hair.

Drying. Don't use a regular towel, the fibers promote frizz. Instead blot your hair dry with a t-shirt or a microfiber towel. If you blow dry, use a diffuser on a low heat setting. Blow dry until it's 50-75% dry. If you blow dry it totally dry, it'll frizz more.

Brushing. Don't. Ever. To detangle, use a wide tooth comb or your fingers, and only while your hair is wet. Never brush dry curly hair. This will cause nothing but frizz and deformed curls.

Products: avoid hair products with silicones. They may make your hair look temporarily shiner, but they build up, and dry up your hair from the inside. My favorites are the Herbal Essences Set Me Up and Curl Scrunching Gel, Moptop Light Hold Gel, Devacare Arc Angell, and Batia and Aleeza Bio-Herbal Sculpting Gel.

Taking these steps made my hair much healthier, shinier, and less of a poofball after just a few weeks.

Many curly haired girls stop shampooing altogether-- myself included. I stopped using sulfate shampoos and switched to cleansing conditioners (Devacurl No-Poo is my favorite). To stop using shampoos, however, you need to stop using -ALL- products that use non-water soluble silicones, because the silicone will not be washed out clean. Cleansing conditioners will get rid of everything else though-- dirt, extra oils, and water-soluble hair products. To find out more about this (and other curly stuff) check out the hair forums at http://www.naturallycurly.com --you're not alone!Curly Hair Tips?!?!?!?!?
my best friend has the same problem

to calm it, she uses:

mousse: dove, or herbal essence (the one that is especially made for curly hair.) both work great.

spray gel: herbal essence

wet hair, brush, then scrunch in mousse then spray gel it down from the roots, not so much the roots.

this is no miracle work. it definitly helps frizz and shape though. what really helps is getting used to it, because its not going to become perfectly curly or perfectly straight by anything. its an animal... but dont let the hair rule you!!!! :]]

Curly hair tips?????

I have naturally wavy/curly hair. When I wash it and let it dry it dries little curls and waves on the front and some underneath of my hair and then the rest is kinda straight.. lol confusing. But, when I use frisky scrunching gel by t.i.g.i it gets really curly but are there any other ways I can use it? Like make waves and still let it look pretty? My hair is above but touching my shoulders. Please help!!! :)Curly hair tips?????
I have the same type of hair. It's long thick and curly underneath and straight on top. I use a light mouse when it's still wet, brush it through my hair, then lightly scrunch it while using a diffuser on the hair dryer.

I get really nice waves this way.Curly hair tips?????
hi =]

Your hair sounds exactly like mine ha ha

well first of all don't ever blow dry it unless you have a diffuser or else it'll go all afro on you lol. (but im sure you already know that)

using a good product should help but don't use too much. I honestly don't use any cause it does make my curls hard and crunchy ha ha.

what i always do is wash it in the morning, brush it out while its wet, then towel dry it until it stops dripping and then just use my hands to scrunch it up on the bottom and near the scalp. Then just leave it be and let it dry. Dont touch it alot after that cause it will start to frizz D:

that always works for me and i get alot of compliments on my hair!

hope i could help and good luck! =]

Curly hair tips!?

My hair is also naturally curly. What i do is i take a shower and kind of ruffle my hair so its really curly. Then i take Pantene Pro V curling gel and put some in my hand and scrunch it into my hair. Then do not move it. leave it down and let it dry and it should turn out without frizzy hair.

Good Luck!Curly hair tips!?
i have very curly hair...what i usually do is i take a shower and wash my hair the night before and then i put some fructis curl and shine stuff in it then i put in curling mousse (i use a certain kind so it doesnt get hard) then i put it in a bun on the very top of my head ((like pebbles)) and wake up the next day! if i was you i would try it on the weekend so if it doesnt turn out so great you dont have to go to school with a bad hair =[[

good luck!

wash your hair the night before leave some extra conditioner in it go to bed wake up the next day stick it under the sink (the conditioner will act as if you just washed it) and style it to your likeing its takes five mins to get it wet and brush it out if your jammed for time wake up earlier. this is wat i do!!!
when ever i do my hair curly it's because i don't have enough time in the morning to straighten it out.. have you tried defuseing it? that would help you out alot!!! put some gel in it and put the defuser on the end of your hair dryer and dry your hair upside down..

hope this helped... best of luck!

Curly hair tips?

I have very curly hair. It is the kind of curl that spirals, and when you pull it, it bounces back.

But, unlike other people with curly hair, mine is VERY thin. It frizzes very easily (I live in FL so that doesnt help.) It especially frizzes at my scalp.

I dont shampoo, unless my hair is REALLY dirty, but I do condition every time I'm in the shower and I do a deep conditioner 2x a week. But still my hair is dry, poofy, and frizzy.

What products do you recommend? Right now, I use Garnier Fruictise (sp?) curl shaping gel (one squirt in my palm for my whole head), TIGI Curl Booster spray, and Biosilk smoothing creme. My conditioner is TIGI Curls Rock shamp/cond.

What should I do to avoid frizz while styling?

Thanks!Curly hair tips?
hey!

I have the same situation as you. Instead of usig Garnier Fructis curl shaping gel try Garnier Fructis leave in conditioning cream. trust me it helps A LOT. It smoothes our hair and actually stops the frizz for a LONG time. After you style your hair, just put some of this on. hope I helped....... good luck :)Curly hair tips?
I have really curly hair too!! I hate the frizz that accompanies it, it's so annoying! I shampoo and condition my hair everyday with the Sunsilk Captivating Curls shampoo and conditioner, and when I get out of the shower, I'll use the leave-in de-frizz creme, also by Sunsilk Captivating Curls. From there, I use Dep Sport Gel, which says it's for men, but it works perfectly in my hair, and doesn't leave it crunchy. I hope this helped even a little bit. Oh!! And I also let my hair air dry, I don't towel dry or use a hair dryer, it tends to make my hair frizzier. Good luck!

Curly hair tips????????

I have medium length very curly, ringlet curls...what are some cute updos, or styles that i could do??? Also, how can i soften my curls, but not make them look frizzy??? (so they aren't sooo tight ringlets) haha thxCurly hair tips????????
well what you can use the shampoo Finesse it works so amazing to keep those curls and natural hair healthy.Curly hair tips????????
try aussie sprunch spray!! its good!
a leave in conditioner works to soften curls... straighten you hair?
put it in a bun? having up do's are quite trendy now or you could have surfer hair with the 'cba' look.

straighten ends with ceramic straightners to prevent frizzing and this will instantly change your look from just having curly down hair.

use mousse to control frizz.

Mainly i suggest that you try out different products for curly hair and experiment when you've nothing better to do.

Curly Hair Tips??????

i have curly hair

how do i enhance it to make it ridiculously curly

what products should i use?

Curly Hair Tips??????
Always use a diffuser when you dry your hair, or air dry it, gently separating the curls as it dries.

Use a styling creme (rather than gel) and a bit of mousse.

my hair used to be super frizzy, curly/wavy,and poofy but now i know how to make it better but it would be nice if you guys could give me some tips on how to enhance my culrs(i want my hair super curly because mines is wavy/curly so it looks like its confused)Curly hair tips??????
I used to have the same exact problem with my poofy frizzy curls. Yes, the drugstore stuff CAN work really well. Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo, conditioner, and styling mousse work so well! I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, then flip my head upside down and scrunch it with the mousse. I flip my head back and fix the curls that are uneven and put some mousse (only a little, or else it will look crispy and greasy) on my roots. I then spray it with some hairspray, because by the end of the day my hair would poof no matter what. Spray any kind of hairspray that you have, then let it air dry and you're all set!Curly hair tips??????
Use mousse and scrunch :]
Put some mouse in your hair, and a little bit of lexible hold hairspray %26amp; dry your hair with a diffuser. It will definetly get curly...... Wavy curly is still cute though, so don't stress to much.
They sell products at like Sally's and even Wal-Mart that u can use that do exactly that....make ur hair get curly. Try that.
Try the John Freida hair glaze. It makes your hair super shiney, but not oily. Also, the chi products and Biosilk products work well to tame the frizz, but not make hair look oily.
Aussie mousse works miracles. (use the kind specifically for curly hair.) You can also use Treseme gel and scrunch. If you want to even it out, use a curling iron on random sections to make the curl more uniform.

Hi.. I am going to school for Cosmetology soon. I have un natural.. but.. curly hair also. ';I absolutely... love.. Paul Mitchel Products. I use them.. have since I have been alot younger.. and favor them. I am not sure what the name is .. it may be Paul Mitchel.. but they have a gel out that smells like watermelon.. it is a bright green and clear bottle/pump. I seen it at my grocer store.. that sells a huge variety of professional styling products. I love gels and mousse whichever you prefer.. it helps give the curls definition and I love the look. I use those cool.. hair bobby pins with sparkles.. flowers .. etc.. on the ends. They sell them at Wallgreens. Pinning curly hair up and letting some curls hang loose on the sides.. is a pretty tossled look.. and men love hair up.. especially... curly. Hope this helps .Oh... and subtle... highlights...look real soft and pretty.. I just had 20 foils put in.. and very thin strands. It looks very.. natural. Hope this helps you.. some curly hair tips would be for you not to do so many things becuz u can sweat it out. you need to keep it curled by curling it with a curling iron. next would be to keep it wash but u have to curl it over unless going to a beauty shop( which I prefer) and just rock your curly hair and have fun with it!!!!
i have very curly hair and what i do is leave it down put scrunching stuff in it then put a little bit of hair spray and then im done. everybody says that it looks soo good. for the scrunching product try using Aura Ganics

  • Curly Hair Tips PLEASE!?

I have blonde, curly, thick, and poofy hair.

I use (repair)ology shampoo and conditioner.

I usually scrunge my hair after with Treseme bouncy curls hair gel.

It all works fine, but after while, when my hair dries, it gets poofy.

Is there anything i can do or use to make my hair not poof when its dries?Curly Hair Tips PLEASE!?
f you want to run out and pick up some products locally, I recommend trying the following:

    - Drugstore: L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel), LA Looks or Herbal essences gels, Suave naturals or vo5 conditioners, L'oreal vive pro hydra gloss or nutri gloss for curly hair, red Cream of Nature shampoo

    - Organic/specialty store (like whole foods): Giovanni Direct Leave in condish, G conditioners, G tea tree shampoo, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose or White Camellia Conditioners, AO B-5 Design gel

    - ULTA: Devacurl products, Biosilk rock hard gelee, MOP-c curl defining cream (They also carry drugstore products and giovanni.)

These are all good things I have used, but be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products. For hair type specific products check out these forums:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. However, the most popular ones are usually only available online.

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find reviews by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. first of all don't scrunch curly hair because it actually separates the curls and makes it poofy. Second if your hair is frizzy like most curly hair then get liquid silicone trust it works wonders on my hair. Third when your hair is wet only comb it once and then don't touch anymore because every time you touch it the curls get separated and cause the poofyness.
You've came to the right person!!

These are the items you will need for your curly poofy hair.

Some type of wide tooth comb:

I hated Treseme products it dried out my hair, also stay away from gels and some mousse it can either make your hair hard and crunchy or flaky using gels. I have amazingly thick curly hair and I feel your pain, but ever since I've been doing this my hair is amazing... Throw out all your hair brushes... Combs will become your new best friend and only comb it when it's wet...

i use aussie sun-touched shine gel which seems to work well.

and use a leave in conditioner...garnier fructis has some.

here is a good way to get spiral curls with less poof:

after you come out of the shower, run some gel through your hair and then comb it with a wide-tooth comb.

then take little sections of your hair and twist them with your finger. (big section=big curl, skinny section=skinny curl) no more scrunching!

after you do that to your whole head, you're good to go! and if you want add a small amount of hairspray to keep it in place, but not enough to make it crunchy.

    hope that helps!
after you take a shower brush it put mouse in it and blow dry it after You let it air dry for a while [if u have time]

this is what i do but my hair isntt so so thick BUT idk maybe this will work for you

ohhh and when u blowrdry it tip your head upside down:]
John Frieda collection, frizzease stuff, serum and spray, works a treat.
you basically just described my hair.

I try not to use many products.

I like to keep my hair long and natural.

Whats a good product to use on my hair? I live in Florida so its really humid in the summer and I have really curly/puffy hair.Curly hair tips?
I too have curly hair that sometime can get out of hand and when I was younger and I'd straighten it. Since then I have found that I want my hair in a healthy shape. So I've been using Redkin all soft heavy cream, which is a conditioner and works wonderfully on my sisters hair and mine. A little bit goes a long way. Its usually about $13 to $14 dollars. I encourage you to also try the shampoo and conditioner. It doesn't give it that crisp feel that mousse does. I also have used Motions At Home Oil-Free Moisturizer Hair Lotion, you can find this at Sally's Beauty Supply. I live in Oklahoma so I know what you mean about the humid summers. Try new things too that say something about styling lotion.Curly hair tips?
Use Miss jessie's curl meringue for waves and curly pudding for tighter curl. I live by the stuff. It's great. Not grease, dosen't male my hair hard or stiff.

    Curly Hair Tips!!!?

I love my hair, it's very pretty, most people say. But it gets poofy %26amp; frizzy, and hard to manage at times. I use Sunsilk stuff, but I wonder what my hair would look like if I could do something different with it!! I'd really appreciate some help!! %26amp; I'm not sure that if I straightened my hair, it would even look good!!!!!!!!Curly Hair Tips!!!?
There is a stylist by the name of Lorraine Massey who decided to change around the way curly hair is treated.

For hair that is curly, frizz can be greatly reduced by giving up shampoo and products with silicones. Shampoo is very very rough on curls.

As weird as it sounds, my hair has been its best since giving up shampoos. I wash my hair and scalp with a cheap conditioner, and it's never been unsanitary. I use a better conditioner to take care of the dryness that can come with curly hair.

My curl definition has been much better, and I have nice corkscrew curls instead of fuzz.

While silicone products make hair nice looking in the short term, product buildup can cause damage to delicate curly hair in the long run because you need a strong detergent to remove the silicones. This damages the hair further.Curly Hair Tips!!!?
I have naturally curly hair although I wear it straight in the winter, to avoid from walking out with a wet head. I used pantene products from curling shampoo, intensive curling conditoner, mousse and srcunching gel. You should visit pantene's website they give great tips for curly hair. You should get you hair professionally blow -dried with a roller brush technique. also visit ouidad.com it is for curly hair also.
I have curly and pretty thick hair. What I do to it most of the time is straighten it with a flat iron. But not just any flat iron.....the Sedu!!! It's the best there is. It's a professional product (better than CHI, trust me on this one) and it's ceramic and has tourmaline.

You can get one of your own at ---%26gt; www.folica.com

Also, if for any reason you don't like it, you can return it in 30 days.

I have one of my own and I set the temperature to 410 degrees F and it has never damaged my hair. If anything, it feels healthier. Try it, I swear........you will thank me.

Also make sure to use some type of cream before you straighten.

I use: Rusk Str8 and it works very well.
Straigtening is good (get the ceramic kind). Try some styling gel after you wash your hair. It will keep the hair in place.
hey fellow curly haired person.. lol

i have really curly hair i use garnier fructis sleek and shine

it comes in a little sphere bottle and it squirts out... it helps keep your hair from frizzing and shines it a bit

you just squirt one time on to your palm and apply it when it is wet works nicely for me

btw i wash my hair in the morning and apply this when my hair it wet.. i brush my hair in the sower and just run through it with my fingers when i get out.. then leave it to air dry

last of all my hair looks really bad when straight.. curly hair tends to be a lot more thin and it looks like ';old people hair'; according to my nice little bro
if you love your curls then dont straighten them becuase then they wont be the same again thats what i did and know i have to straigten my hair pretty much everyday

when your hair is still wet after a shower scrunch it

put some MOOSE in it not hair spray cuase that makes it harder

dont over do it on the moose tho

and with out blowdrying just wait for your hair to dry

you could towel dry your hair after you get outa the shower if you have some where to go and want it to be a little more dry

    GOOD LUCK :D

ok so let me tell you about my hair. it is about medium length(little past my shoulders), thick, and curly. whenever i wear it down it will look good when it's wet but then when it dries...it poofs up and looks like a triangle. so any help? tips? hair products? it always seems like i'm wearing my hair up all of the time and i wanna wear it down:). oh by the way i'm going to get my hair cut on tuesday so if there is any specific cut like layers or anything, tell me! my hair is red and i have side bangs too:D???curly hair tips(:?
sounds just like my hair!! i used to wear it up all the time because of the frizzziness of it,

but i got my hair v-shaped cut , and i got it thinned out A LOT which took, tons of the frizz away, for products i put any leave in conditioner, after gel/ mousse whatever you prefer, and finishing hairspray and my hair looks like if i just came out of the shower ';wet hair look';???curly hair tips(:?
I know how you feel! My hair was the same way so i used to straighten it alot then it got really damaged. So i went my my hairdresser and got it thinned out and gave me a haircut so it wasn't a triangle shape. Then she tought me how to scrunch it by putting moose in my hair when its wet. So you could try that

    Hope this helps : )
You should probably thin out your hair so its not that poofy. I think that would really help.
Sounds exactly like my hair too! If it is cury, it most likely means that your hair is dry too. If you use the right kind of conditioners, specifically meant for dry and damaged hair, and then some leave in conditioner afterwards, it would help with the frizzyness too. One more thing you can do is do a hot oil treatment. If you don't want to go out and buy one, just heat up some olive oil and pour all over your hair and then wrap your hair in a warm towel. Keep it in as long as possible and then rinse out.

It also helps if you comb your hair with a large toothed comb when you are in the shower and have conditioner in your hair. It is better than a brush and is a lot less damaging. Then when you get out of the shower, your hair is basically tangle free already.

People with curly hair need to be really careful about their cut when they go get it done. I've tried thinning my hair and it wasn't the best idea. When they thin your hair, they are basically cutting some hairs shorter than all the rest. What happened with me is when my hair dried after that, the shorter hairs poofed out more since they were shorter and weighed a lot less then the rest of your longer hairs.

But basically when it comes to new hairstyles, it's all trial and error. if you don't like it, then you can wear it up until it grows back out. Braids are always a good idea too.

Hope this helps. For a good conditioner try the Body Shop's Honey Moisturizing conditioner or L'oreal Paris's Vive Pro Hydra Gloss moisturizing conditioner.

Make sure your using black girl hair products cause the others aren't oily enough for your hair,I say leave it down and put a head band on with your curls all wild but conditioned and oiled so they look healthy and full.not frizzy and looking like you got electrocuted.
stragten it then put the top half in a ponytail and then curl the top in big twirls.
hey im half black and white too. a few hairstyles that'll get you compliments on are:

-hlaf up half down: but be creative, use a wide toothed comb to comb your hair with your products, wet or dry, pull half up, leave a few curly strands out highlighting your face, tie the hair with a ponytail holder, pull curls over your shoulders.

-Twist: wen your curls are wet put them in a high or mid way ponytail, twist the ponytail up and clip, leave a few curls dangling

-Clip it: hav your hair down, combed, product in it, and let it air dry, use a brush and right in the middle ( the crown) near the front (right above your forehead) pull a section back and clip it.

-Layer it: get long layers so your curls will be controlled and look good (only if you hav lon hair)
just like wear it down or something that looks good!

    Curly hair tips?

whenever i seeme to curl my hair ( using hot tongs and vo5 gel hairspray after every curl i do)

well you should try to put water before hairspray and it will make it come out better
maybe u should use some kind of holding spray when ur curling it so that it stays curled or maybe u should ask a proffesional hair dresser if they could help u, do it for u, or sell u some kind of product that will help

    Curly hair tips??

ok i have really thick curly hair. its pretty long little past my chest. any tips on styling it besides pulling it back into a pony tail??Curly hair tips??
you could always straighten it or put some of it up some down you can wear a headband or you could try at the front of you head there is a bunch of hair take that and put in under you hair you can put in pony tail so when you put them in you hair is on your shoulders. 2 braides or bangs up is good to. oh buns are also very good

    Wanna be friends?Curly hair tips??
i had the same issue. i have wicked thick hair. What i do is after i get out of the shower i put leave-in conditioner or gel and put my hair in ten little buns! in the morning...PRESTO curly/wavy (depends on how tight the buns are) if you have curly hair and want it straight...i would just use a flat-iron(make sure you put in product before hand so it burns the product and not your hair, otherwise it will be damaged)

    : ) goodluck!
I do too. Mine isn't quite as long as yours though, mabye about an inch shorter. My favourite style (as I love having my hair up) is to get LOADS of bobby pins and a pretty clip in flower or something and you pretty much scrunch your hair to your head and pin it all up randomly and evenly spaced accross the back of your head and then clip the flower in. Or forget about the flower and put a ribbon or head scarf around your head. It is a really cute/messy/funky style. I love it and always get compliments, I also (when I have time) do little random braids. The idea is to look different every time. Experiment with it though so you understand what I mean. (Kind of like this photo but not quite - hopefully you get what I mean :-S lol http://z.about.com/d/prom/1/7/u/-/-/-/um鈥?/a> I leave my fringe out though.

I also am always experimenting with headscarves, bobby pins, little braids, curling irons, flowers, ribbons and cute clips. It is all about the accessories! I like to pull out my fringe and braid the front half of my hair in a row (so just the first inch of hair from your fringe) into lots of little braids and pin it back (with bobby pins) its a kind of cute fairy style.

Messy giant buns with flowers etc are really cute with curly hair.

Sometimes (particually if I am going somewhere nice (like a date or something)) I lightly straighten the top half and get my curling iron out and define my natural curls on my bottom half (kind of like this, but more natural looking then her hair)

    http://www.freehairstyles.net/wp-content鈥?/a>

Or one I wear to work alot is I get the top sides of my hair (if that makes sense, I mean kind of like half up half down sections, but leave a bit of the middle down) they have to be thick sections, and i roughly braid one and roughly pin it to the rest of my hair and then braid the other side similarly, then I braid them together (loosely) and tie them together with a ribbon or hairtie. Vaguely like this picture

http://prom.hairresources.net/PromHalfUp鈥?/a> It takes some experimentation though, but is nice when you get the hang of it.

As I have said I am also a fan of braids, so I experiment with them all the time. So instead of a boring and regular half up/half down style, I will braid sections of both the top and bottom section. The top section braids I will tie together with the rest, and I do loose bottom braids just to get funky. Have a look online if you run out of ideas. Just be creative though. I love having curly hair because I have so many options that straight hair doesn't. Just experiment and have fun! Good luck.

(Sorry for blabbering and not making sense, I hope you get me? lol have fun!)
    half up, half down.

    bangs up.

partial bangs clipped back/to the side.

straighten it (CHI straightener works wonders, and i have the same hair)

    two braids.

    bun.

my hair is super frizzy and poofy... any tips to make it seem much softer, smoother, healthier, and possibly grow faster?! thankss!Curly hair tips? ?
Some kind of curling cream.. NOT GEL! I am currently using Garnier-Fructis Curl Sculpting Cream, and it works great for my curls. I have been trying out different things, and one thing I suggest is using the whole line of products from SunSilk. It is called Captivating Curls, and they sell it in Wal-Mart or Target for cheap.

Good luck :)Curly hair tips? ?
omg mine is the same! i have side bangs though so all the attention won't go on my curls. ok try some curling serum or leave-in conditioner that you put in AFTER your hair is dry. and i know this sounds crazy but if you put lotion in your hair it actually looks better and less-frizzy! also, use some hair spray after your done to keep everything in place

Curly Hair tip - I need help with my firzziness?

well i have really curly hair and well it really annoys me does anyone know like something i could put in my hair to like control it?Curly Hair tip - I need help with my firzziness?
Pantene frizz controlCurly Hair tip - I need help with my firzziness?
i use some spray stuff from catwalk i think. it's a defrizzer. any serum that says defrizzer on it normaly works. the more expensive i find isn't alyways the best but sometimes the REALLY cheap brands will make your hair super crunchy. at the moment i favor BedHead products
use gel that says frizz control...
Don't wash you hair every day, comb in a real good condioner while in the shower leaving enough in to make it feel a little slimy.

pat dry don't rub with a towel. while still real wet carefully run evenly with your fingers a mositurizing mousee. than don't touch it. the more you touch, comb and play with it the more fizz
    I second that Pantene stuff!

Is it possible for me to grow my hair 3 inches in 3 months? how? I cut my hair about a year ago and it grows back sooo slow! I keep my hair straightened now that its short, because I dont like the look of my natural curly hair on me while its short. I want to grow my hair longer for the summer because i know im not going to be able to straighten it every time I get in/out of watter. PLEASE HELP!! =]

And anybody else who has naturally curly hair, what are some good products you use??

Thanks for all help =]Grow hair 3 inches in 3 months?? / Natural curly hair tips?
To grow hair fast... since you cut it I am not sure, but i knew alot of girls who had natually short hair and got their ends trimmed regularly, and it began to grow longer that way. I think they got a trim every 6 weeks i think??

And I have curly hair too... I wash with shampoo/conditioner and I use LA LOOKS hair getl after a wash, and then put Fructis spray gel in it and let it air dry and it will look nice...

And for products I like Cantu Shea Butter Hair Cream (walmart), the Mixed Chicks leave-in (they have a website..google), and I hear Kinky-Curly is good... they sell this at some salons (none in our area tho) but u can also order online. they have a website too just google

Oh my favorite hair conditioner is Tresseme, and Biolage is good too but Tressemme works jsut as well (the curly hair version) and it really helps me detangle my hair in shower

I hear that Brazilian hair products are really good, i'm going to start trying their stuff too. There's a brand called O Boticario that has some stuff for curly hair that people say is really good.Grow hair 3 inches in 3 months?? / Natural curly hair tips?
I have the same problem! Just wait, hair grows on 1/2 an inch average per month! Sad but true. I'm sorry, and from the millions of things I have read and the knowledge I have there is NOTHING out there to make yhour hair grow faster than the speed you were born with!

I out gel in my hair and put it up kinda messy sometimes when I am lazy, I guess just do what you gotta do! sorry.
GO ON SALLYSBEAUTY.COM THEY HAVE amaizing hair products... i used some and my hair grew like 5 inches in 5 or 6 months. mine was called hair fixer... ;) its amaizing

have you ever tried diffusing it?
Hi Loni just wanted to say ,,, there are flat irons that you could buy one at walmart ... they are great with curly hair just section it out and start at the bottom from either side then go to back drop more hair until you get to the top , yes I know you really dont have the time thu you could try it when ever you do have the time you will love itand practice more as you go. Loni it reallly is great I love mine and advice anyone that has curly hair to do so ... if you have a friend to practice with or she with you it is better .. and for the times you not able to as soon as you get out of the shower put some olive oil on your hair while is wet dont wrap it with a towel until you put oil first not alot Loni just some you have to guess how much and again use your judgement on that and you can control it better ,,, if you dont use alot of oil ,,brush it out and put a hair band and it will look better ,,,,yoli take care
    care free curl

i used it and i love it
I guess we have the same problem: our hair ends are drier than the roots. I use Swarzkopf Gliss ';Scan Repair System'; conditioner. If you search for the products, I'm sure you can buy the perfect one for you.

    Curly hair tips?????????????

I have curly hair and I want to know how to make my hair have riglets?? My hair is curly but is also frizzy. Any tips??Curly hair tips?????????????
I deal with this problem everyday and I've got the answer. Okay, wash and condition your hair, brush it while it is wet, then while it is still soaking and you are still in the shower turn the water off and shake your head really hard (like a dog, but trust me this works) this will seperate your hair but not like a brush does, squeeze the excess water out with your hands put some strong holding gel on and let it drip dry. You should have Shirley Temple curls all day depending on your type of curls, but I know it will look good if you like curls, I am so tired of them but at least people always envy them. Just try it, can't hurt.Curly hair tips?????????????
Buy Garnier Fructis Spray Gel Curl Shaper. All you have to do is twist your hair and spray. Good Luck

I have very curly, long hair. Its not kinky, or like black hair, but its very curly!!! extremly! i have to put an enormous amount of mousse, hairspray etc. to keep it form getting ';puffy'; but at the end of the school day (like 3:00 pm,) its big, in my way, puffy and sort of embarassing--! and while its undercontroll (at the begining of the day) its wet, or ';hard'; and ';crunchy'; from the product! its horrible, it may look nice for a while but if anyone may touch it they say, ';its hard as rocks'; etc. very annoying, i cant straighten it everyday:( but i still want to maitain my curls!!!! please anyone who can help? tips??? testimony? anything you got!!!!!

try Curp up, and srunch your curls in the morning, it doesnt make them crunchy but holds in the moisture

usally Aussie has great products for curly hair
i have the same problem try buying a straightening brush and buy garnier de frizz.. its in a green bottle.
don't use mousse and hairspray all at the same time

trial and error is where it is at

everyone has different hair and different product works for different people

u just need to try different ones till u find the one that works for ur hair

maybe even try using a curling iron for some people it helps maintain their curls

u should feel blessed to have naturally curly hair i must say i am jealous!!!
I had the same problem but with a little bit of frizz thrown in for good measure. I use Tresemme Flawless Curls shampoo and Tresemme Flawless Curls Moisturizing Conditioner. I don't rinse the conditioner out completely - I leave a little in which takes care of the frizz.

I hope this helps but it also depends on how thick or fine your hair is and whether it's layered or not. Good luck - I know exactly how you're feeling.

Straight perm at home? Extremely curly hair! Tips needed please?

Hello! My name is Ruby and I have extremely curly, thick, frizzy hair. I also am sick of straightening my hair with the flat iron only to have it be kinky and frizzy by the time I leave the house. I seriously have tried everything. I even tried a perm once but that only made it a little less curly.

I also do NOT have the money for a salon. Yeah, I know it鈥檇 be better if I used a salon and stuff, but if that鈥檚 all you can tell me, don鈥檛 post because I really can鈥檛 go.

Anyway, I have been thinking about the last time I permed my hair and I was wondering if there is any secret way of keeping the hair straight while perming it? I know when you get a curly perm you put it in curlers, so is there anything you can do about keeping the hair straight while doing the straight perm? I tried the whole keep brushing it out thing and that did not work well at all. My hair even has a little bit of curl when it鈥檚 wet! (I dunno, like maybe a wrap of some kind or anything really!)

Any ideas or suggestions would be great. I鈥檓 desperate. School鈥檚 starting soon and I just don鈥檛 have the time to waste an hour straightening it in the mornings if it won鈥檛 stay that way all day.

    Thanks so much!

Honey I feel your pain! I had the exact same problem!! Trying to keep my hair stright all day at school was such a pain!! In the begining of summer I relaxed my hair. I got the relaxed for only five dollars at walgreens!! And it worked!! Much hair is now wavy. I didn't want it straight so I didn't leave It on long Enough to get straight. It only dried out my hair a bit but I fixed that with deep conditioners. You should really try it. It made my life a whole lot easier!!
my sis has the same problem although her hair is probably worse than yours XD

first of all youll have to straighten the same piece of hair several times

you have to blow dry it straight firstt, just a little though, and then flat iron it

there are many products you can use to controll frizz so research on frizz control products because i cant name them at the moment

or you can actually just keep it curly, but use product to make it look good

my sis sometimes keeps her hair curly but puts gel or curling mousse and stuff like that

but it you want it straight, after straighening, i suggest you hairspray it just a little at the roots so it can stay straight

but if your hair is naturally curly, you cannot keep it straight forever unless a miracle or something happens
soo yeah we have the same problem...and i used an optimum perm. they are really good. i just cut all my hair off because it was so long, curly soft...to be honest i don't know what my hair wanted to be...

but good luck and reguardless of the perm your hair is still gonna be puffy...doll face thats just in our nature.

we are blessed to be honest....we got the good hair

Curly hair tips! 10 points! :)?

okay i have quite curly hair which is abit of a pain! ive given up trying to fight the fact but now dont no what to do with it to get the best curls

I just want a way of having looser bigger curls rather than lots of small curls!

ive tried scrunching it but it never looks right so i dont no if im doing it wrong?

i was wondering if a diffuser would be any good? and if so should i get a really big diffuser thing or a smaller one? how do you know if a diffuser will suit/work for your hair type?

Also....if i grew my hair longer (its about an inch n a half past shoulder length atm when straight) would it get less curly?

my hair is very fine if that changes anything?

    eurgh!!

any help would be much appreciated

    thanks xxx

BTW! i dont want to use straighteners as they damage my hair to much so dont bother suggesting that! thanksCurly hair tips! 10 points! :)?
of course your not stuck with your curls.

    * wash your hair with a glossy conditioner and a smooth shampoo, afterwards blow dry your hair applying mouse as you go but also brush out your hair for looser more even curls.

    * then when your hair is dry it should look alot more settled , so then get a comb and brush through your hair slowly but hardly this will stretch the curls and hair, then apply a little more mouse to your now dry hair and put your whole hand over a loop of hair and squeeze in one place tight.

Keep doing this all over and your sure to have long lasting loose curls! x

good luck babe.Curly hair tips! 10 points! :)?
    just straighten it.
k heres what i did i put in lotion to straighten my hair and it loosened my curls
If you grow your hair out it won't get less curly, maybe more loose curls but not less curly. You can never loose your natural curls ( :

Turn upside down and spray freshly washed roots with volumizing or texturizing spray. Massage it in (stylist Garren insists the rubbing motion creates body and texture). I like Bumble and Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .

If hair is naturally coarse or curly, work a straightening balm through hair.

Brush hair (this works the product evenly through hair). Blowdry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style).

Separate hair into three sections, securing with a ponytail holder. (It's easier this way to curl your way through each section).

To curl hair, use a wide-barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a 1-inch portion of hair, spritz it with styling spray (again, I love Bumble and Bumble Styling Spray) or hairspray. Wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel. Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root). When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose to avoid a crimp mark.

Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds (hold longer if you want a tighter curl). You should have a corkscrew curl.

Roll curl and bobby pin it close to the scalp. (I'm lazy, so I skip this step to save time).

Alternate the direction of the curl as you work your way through each section. (It's all in the direction you wind hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Start by placing hair on top of the barrel and wrapping around, then switch by putting the barrel on top of the hair before winding it around). Alternating directions makes curls look more natural. Some curls can remain tight, some loose.

Once pinned curls have cooled, release them.

Remove nozzle from dryer and gently loosen waves with cool air. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.

To add shine, spritz a hair serum . Stylist David Babaii finger-combs Biosilk Silk Therapy serum into actress Kate Hudson's hair (May 2007, InStyle). You can forego hair serum and spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray.

    Set with hairspray. Just don't overdo it, you don't want new waves to feel ';crunchy.';
How To Survive Curly Hair: curly hair tips, tricks, %26amp; advice

I have naturally curly hair, and I mean tight corkscrews. Throughout the years I have fought with it, played with it, straightened it, despaired of it, and blown it dry within an inch of its life. I have spent more hours than I care to think of in front of a mirror with a blow dryer in one hand and a brush in the other. That’s certainly helped. However, since I have no control over the weather my hair continued to look freakishly bad whenever it got damp. However, I still insisted on wearing it straight. My metamorphosis came about 2 years ago during yet another period when I didn't know what to do with my hair. My stylist talked me into letting my hair grow and wearing it curly. I fought him all the way. (At that time my hair was very, very short so I had a long time to fight with him.) I explained to him that wearing my hair “natural” made me look like Little Orphan Annie on a bad hair day. At first I would only agree to the growing part, but one day when nothing I did with my blow dryer and straightening iron looked right, I tried it curly. I used some of the styling products he had suggested and after fooling around with it I realized that my curly style didn’t look half bad. Then I began experimenting with different styling techniques and began trying different products made to be used specifically for curly hair. Now I wouldn’t wear it any other way. Along the way, I learned a few things too:

    * First, and perhaps most importantly, find a stylist who really knows how to cut curly hair and build a rapport with him or her. (For advice on finding a good stylist, you may want to check out my tips on both how to Find A Curly Hair Salon Near You and How To Choose A Colorist and Stylist.)

    * Curls come in all shapes, sizes, and textures. Recognize your hair type and use products that are right for you. For instance, even though I have very tight curls I also have very fine hair. It took a long time to finally figure out that I also needed to address the “fine hair issue.” I now use a spray to give my hair extra body.

    * Don't wash your hair every day. I used to faithfully wash my hair every morning until a number of stylists advised me against it. Now, I wash my hair twice a week and condition it daily. They were right, my hair is much shinier and in better condition.

    * Don't ';towel dry'; your hair (i.e. rub it with a towel). Rather, gently squeeze the water out with a towel. My stylist actually recommends throwing your head forward and blotting your hair with paper towels.

    * If you have your hair colored in any way, use shampoos and conditioners that are “color safe.” Numerous brands make them.

    * Experiment with hair ornaments. I haven't had all that much luck with combs and clips (my hair is fine) but I realized that with longer hair I could wear headbands. Great on a ';bad hair day,'; in the summer, or when you want to show off a fabulous pair of earrings.

How to care for curly hair! Tips please!?

    Hello everyone.

I have curly/wavy hair a bit longer than shoulder length. My hair is very prone to frizz and puffiness. I wash it each night using a shampoo to remove product build up. Then I use a conditioner which I leave in for 4 minutes. I then use a deep nourishing treatment conditioner which I leave in for 4 minutes. I comb my hair and wash the conditioner out with cold water. I then pat dray my hair and put anti-frizz serum in, and braid it. In the morning I dampen my hair and apply mousse and then hair spray to define the curls. I wear my hair in a half-up half-down style. I avoid straightening my hair because it ruins my hair. What do other curly haired girls do to control their curls? Can I please have some tips! I want gorgeous and pretty curls ... Help!!!

Thanks :)How to care for curly hair! Tips please!?
I have similar hair to you, and i understand how hard it can be to fix.

If the products you are using now are not helping it would probably be a good idea to stop them. You might be experiencing some build up from all the product. All i use now is a leave in conditioner which i put through the ends generously.

Find a hairstylist who has naturally curly hair, as they will have a better understanding and cut your hair well. Don't over style, it just aggravates frizzy hair. And crazy as it sounds try using hot rollers on your worst hair days. Even though the hair is already curly the rollers seem to guide the curls in the right direction. Well this has worked for me anyway, i have finally got my hair to look like hair, not a mop or a mane! How to care for curly hair! Tips please!?
ok chill first thing to do get yourself some clynol infuse. professional product! this is a leave in treatment ! as u know curly hair is naturally dry so avoid heat as much as poss. when u do your treatment put a bag over you hair to retain heat this will enable the product to enter throught the hairs cuticle and will be more effective. have to tried using wax on your hair when it is wet as that will define the curls, bcareful with mousse and hairspray as it has a high alchol content an will dry it out even more.
    i scrunch my hair ,

take some gel and put it in the palm of your hand ,

while your hair is wet take peices and squeeze the gell up into the hair untill you reach the top , and then move on to another peice.

if you do this to your hole head it should be very nice and curly.

then you can ethor air dry or blow dry it,

but i have very thick hair so i air dry because the blow dryer makes it frizzy
Afther u come out the shower with your hair wet .

use , mouse nd hair spary .

and scruch your hair . then wen your done before u use hair spayy dry your hair with blow dryer then use hair spray

it works for me my hair comes out curlyy
Any hair - curly, straight and so on should be well-maintained on a regular basis!
I know exactly what you are going through. I have very tight frizzy curls. DO NOT SHAMPOO EVERY DAY! Your damaging your hair big time. Instead every day use conditioner when you wash your hair and shampoo only once or twice a week. Shapoo will just take away the natural oils you have which curly hair does not have much. Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week and leave on for 20 minutes to half and hour. I sometimes leave it for an hour. After you wet your hair use a leave in conditiner and also an anit frizz serum. I use paul mitchell leave in conditioner and i use olive oil based anti frizz. Then any curl defining mousse to add life and volume. You HAVE to have a diffusor for you blow dryer. It will help dry the curls with some definition. You can also use hair spray for curls since they hydrate if you want them to stay for a bit. Braiding your hair while wet is not a good idea since it can give you hair bad oder and cause bacteria to build in your hair....you dont want that. If you want some really cool tips, go on youtube. they have videos on how to take care of curly hair, i learned a lot from there alone with years of dealing with my curls. Also cut your curls in layers, it will help keep you hair look beautiful and not look like you have a lump over you head. I hope this helps.
The best care I did for my hair was invest in professional shampoo and conditioner. I bought the Matrix Curl life shampoo and conditioner. It not only brought life to my wave and curl combo but it prolonged the health of my hair. After I shower I always use a combination of styling mousse and Sunsilk frizz ease. John Fridas Frizz ease serum works well too.

I intend to avoid alot of mousse and hairspray cuase I hate how it makes my hair feel. The stiffness is unpleasant in my opinion. Instead I just use alot of moisture.

But from experience....some days are GREAT curly hair days. every curl every wave works out perfectly into a style that makes you look stunning. Then there are those days when you have strands flying here and others forming in odd shapes and curls. Aint it fun having high maintenance hair.

What are some curly hair tips?

I have long hair that goes a few inches past my shoulders that doesn't know if it' wavy or curly. The top of my hair is very straight and flat, and then like 1 1/2 inches down, my hair starts waving until at the end it twists into pretty loose curls. But I want my hair to be curly from top to bottom. What are some tips for curl defining, scrunching, and blowdrying? I have no clue how to scrunch my hair, so any tips on that would be nice. Is my long hair weighing the curls down? Should I cut them off to shoulder-length? Right now I let it air-dry every day - would drying it with a blow-dryer make my hair more ringlet-y? Any tips would be much appreciated - thank you all! What are some curly hair tips?
For scrunching my hair i use a mousse then a gel then hair spray to lock it in place heres a video with some of the products i use.

Out of this video i think you only need to buy the mousse the gel but not the herbal essense hair spray she uses but you do need a hair spray. You can buy these at any local drugsore :)

I have naturally curly hair that is very hard to manage and can get very frizzy. I have a full fringe. I straighten this everyday and it stays straight. (although if a DROP of water gets on it it frizzes) I normally straighten the rest of my hair, but as it is coming up to summer, i want to leave my hair curly. What are the best styling products to use,(products available in the UK) and does anyone have any great hairstyles for very curly hair (Down OR Up-do's!), or any website links where i can get tips? I will be very grateful for responses :):)Any curly hair tips?

and I use strightly curls shampoo and conditioner by Marc Anothony. After I shower, I use any type really of mousse to either scrunch or just work through my hair. When it's damp I use sunsilk captivating curls and anti-frizz creme by tresseme. I let my hair air dry scrunching it with my hands sometimes.

As for hairstyles I love really low, loose, ponytails or side ponytails, low pigtails, and wear a head band looks really cute. Also, wearing a high ponytail with a poof looks great!

    Good LuckAny curly hair tips?
Try using Frizz-ease products, they are pretty good or go to your salon and ask them to help you, don't use hair spray, yuk!! That just make's your hair stiff or sticky. When i hear hairspray i think of the 50';s. Hair products have come a long way and they are better for your hair.
Get a humidity spray. They work WONDERS! you can get one by JOICO i recently used it for my hair for my wedding and so did my mom! we both LOVED it! it was amazing!
if you want your hair to stay not frizzy, use a lot of serum. I use bed head serum and it works great!! it never frizzes and you can put it on anytime.
    check youtube this is good!!!

    Curly hair tips/help please!?

okay so i just got my hair permed sunday and i love it! but im really not sure how to take care of new curly hair. some of my questions may sound dumb so sorry in advance. okay one question is i have curling cream, but idk if i should run the cream through my hair and then scrunch it, or just rub it in between my hands and scrunch my hair like that. also do you guys know any good products?? thank you so so much in advance! %26lt;33Curly hair tips/help please!?
    YAY! I love curly hair!

There are several important things you can do to make your curls look awesome!

This may sound crazy to you, but instead of using shampoo and then conditioning your hair you can just use your conditioner like a shampoo, this will help your curls form better and actually keep color fresher (if you color) because conditioner contains no sulfates, which frizz hair and drain color.

depending on the thickness of your hair I would use somewhere in between a quarter and a half dollar, apply the same way you would shampoo, and make sure you scrub to get oils off. (conditioner contains a mild cleansing agent so your hair will still be clean, just not damaged)

Afterward, rinse, and use a wide tooth comb to untangle knots.

*Use only silicone free products on your hair as it won't come off without using shampoo and it fights curly hair*

Apply a nickel amount of a leave-in conditioner, running it from the back of your head and the root down to the ends and through the front last (so you won't have excess) and then scrunch in either a curl cream, a humectant pomade (my favorite, i.e. Aveda's brilliant humectant) or a light mousse, depending on if your hair is fine, medium, or coarse. Make sure you use enough product that your hair feels wet, you should be able to squeeze it and have product drip off.

    Let your hair air-dry.

If you like more volume to your hair, you can use clips like these

    http://www.beautyeditor.com.au/wp-conten鈥?/a>

to make little bunches of hair at your crown.

Let all of your hair dry about 90% and then take the clips out, once it's totally dry you can run your hands through the hair underneath (at the base of your neck) and shake your hair out to loosen the curl.

you can message me if you want more styling ideas or tips.Curly hair tips/help please!?
I have naturally curly hair and what I do is run the cream or mousse ( I love treseme) through my hair and then scrunch it where needed, until i get the look that i like, then i let it air dry actually, but you can also use a diffuser to dry your hair faster if you wish. Any mousse that has a strong hold feature should be fine, dont need to use gel, it makes your hair really dry. Good luck! :)
Ok firstly, NEVER BRUSH CURLY HAIR...you probably already knew this but just in case you didn't. It makes your hair go like a bush and damages it. Instead, when you wash it, put conditioner in and leave for like 2 minutes, then comb your hair with a wide-tooth or Afro comb. This will get rid of any tangles without separating your curls.

If I was using a cream, I would run it through my hair then scrunch it, but if I was using mousse, I'd put a blob in my hand then scrunch it in. With the cream though, it just means your hair gets evenly coated.

I tend to use a scrunching jelly on my hair, and I run it over my hair then scrunch it in at night after I've washed my hair. Then I sleep on it and it goes all bouncy :) Then the next morning if it's a bit frizzy I spray it with a calming spray and scrunch it a little again. Some people spray theirs with water but I just find it gets frizzier.

Good luck with your hair :)

Curly hair tips? ten easy points!!!!! ?

    here's a pic-http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk224鈥?/a>

i cant dye my hair, too young, and i want it to stay this legnth short hair looks really bad on me!

please no rude comments!Curly hair tips? ten easy points!!!!! ?
I love your hair. And i'm a curly hair chick too. But I keep mine short and it looks great cause my hair dresser is amazing. I don't really know what you want to do with it. But i use to take a long piece of ribbon and put it under neath my hair and bring it up to the top tie it in a bow and put it to the side but i kept my bangs infront of it and everyone always loved it. Or you can pin back one side of your hair. I prefer to wear my hair down. But if I get lazy I just throw it up in a messy bun which always looks nice for curly haired girls. I don't think curly hair and pony tails work so well but low pigtails are cute and fun. Hope I helped. :]Curly hair tips? ten easy points!!!!! ?
Oh I think it looks cute on you!!! But you could try getting a flat iron and straighten it. I have the same problem!!! Also, if you like it straight, there is this thing you can do that my hair stylist told me about. You just get the first thing of chemicals put on your hair that they use whenever you would get a perm. It will stay straight for about 4 months even when you get it wet! I haven't tried it yet, but I know several people who have! I hope I helped you!
i have the same exact hair!

    dont believe shampoos and conditioners that are for ';curly hair';

get a shampoo and conditioner that are for shine and smoothness

i use panteen ultra ice shine shampoo and it works really nicely

for drying it keep it in a pony tail for a big until it starts to become a little dry or so that the hair that isnt in the pony tail is dry and then use products like sunsilk anti-poof or sunsilk anti-frizz

i've found that scarf headbands help you full off a lot as well as headbands in general

clips and bobbypins are useful too if you only have sections of your hair that is still frizzy

braids are cute as well, my friends (in particular guys which is funny) always play with the curl that's left at the end of my braid

just dont japanese straighten it, you'll regret it, not everyone has natural curly hair
No it dosent. It looks pretty cute.

Put some eyeliner on, and it will look even better.

Or you could try pinning your bangs back with a little hump. and some nice earrings make a pretty big difference sometimes.

You could also buy a straightener... their pretty cheap at local stores.
Maybe try making them look sharper. Then maye add a bow or a headband. Thats what i do and all my friends love it maybe you should try it.
Hey, please don't straighten it. Curly hair makes girls look sweet and mysterious and you look really cute, just right the way it is.
its very cute when you do it like that! another suggestion is the pull it up in a high pony, then take ur bangs and pin them back with a small bump...i think it will be cute!!!
    Hmm..

Try putting it in a ponytail! :D

Or even putting cute bows or maybe a hairband would look great. If you can, put on hoop earrings, it'd look fabulous.

Or even straighten it for a change!

You have really cute hair. (:
    ponytail

    half pony

    loose pigtails

    or braided pigtails.
A headband? Or you could straighten it but not too much, you'll damage your hair.
omg do not straighten i really like it curly hair is so much more fun than straight hair ..i wouldnt do anythin!
    straighten it.
why not use hair straighteners and wear it straight for a change it would look great
    itd fineee
    try straightening itt

or cliping half of it up :)
i think you look great just the way you are! :)

How can I make my hair look cute and stylish.

    its about shoulder length

    not incredibly tight curls

    but curly

    no layersBrown Curly Hair Tips?
First of all, get layers! It will ';lift'; your curls and your hair will seem more ';bouncy';... When you get out of the shower, leave your hair as wet as possible before you put in product. DO NOT touch your wet hair. Let it air dry. Experiment with mousse, gel, and conditioners. Find what's best for your curls. Everyone's hair is different. Just experiment to find what works best for you!Brown Curly Hair Tips?
i have the same hair as you.

i just tie mine in a pony, but i dont think thats very stylish
ummm...try pinning the front fringe bits back behind the rest so it is curls at the back and pinned back at the front...do you have a fringe...i have short curly hair too try looking on different websites to find soemthing you like
    Flat iron it!
you could use the curls to your advantage and put in a messy bun with parts around yourface hanging loose or you could straighten and put in a high pony. also maybe next time you get your hair cut ask for some layers?
shave em all off or have a nice little love heart shape pubes everyone hates em
try getting side bangs but straightenging them every morning.

then maybe a hat would go well over your curls to calm them down.

layers are what you should stay away from.

  • Wavy and Curly Hair Tips?

I have really curly and wavy hair that's thick and medium length with layers.

I have all hair products such as mousse, serum, gel, wax etc and also hairdryers and straightners.

Any tips on how to get my hair looking nice and just not so wild, thick and heavy???

    =]Wavy and Curly Hair Tips?
I have pretty much the same hair.

DON'T STRAIGHTEN IT LOTS. believe me i know and it ends up looking a lot worse in the long run. Hairdryers aren't much better so its best just to let it dry naturally. Of course its fine to straighten it every now and then.

Also, I know it sounds disgusting, but don't use shampoo or alternatively use a sulfate free one. the sulfates that are in most shampoos do no favors for curly hair. If you don stop using shampoo, you should use a normal conditioner to loosen the dirt, and then a moisturizing one afterwards. It is best to only wash curly hair one or two times a week because washing it dries it out, and gives it time to restore the natural oils.

Another good idea is to sleep with damp hair, for me it tends to make my hair look a lot less wild. And always remember to get your split ends trimmed every 6 - 8 weeks. If you want your curls to not be so big, then grow your hair out and they will drop out a bit.

If you go onto wikihow, and search for the curly girl method for curly hair, it has some great tips.

Hope this helps! :) Wavy and Curly Hair Tips?
Get your hair thinned out. Without using chemicals.

Hairdressers use special thinning sissors without losing the loss of your hair, and good results came by, my cousin had it done and it looks so nice and stylish :)

When you straighten your hair, use HotStraight product from Lo'Real. When you curl your hair, use serum, and moose, any moose which has maximum hold :) Good luck! Hope this helped
I would put a little bit of oil and gel in it and then do a mini up do
My hair is the same way. I have noticed that letting my hair air-dry after scrunching gel in it looks best. :)
you could straighten it if you like

    Curly hair tips, please help?

My hair is really curly, and I actually would love to wear it that way but it seems like I never can because no matter what I do it ends up extremely frizzy and it is sooooo nappy that by the time I comb through it, the other side is already knotted up again. Does anyone have any tips on how I can keep my hair curly without it having to be loaded up in products or super frizzy??Curly hair tips, please help?
Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying

For specific products for your hair type you鈥檒l want to explore the forums at:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. my hair gets like that too, here's what i do, and maybe it will work for you too:

use one of those leave in conditioners for about 3 minutes (it says it on the bottle how long) and then wash it out

if you do, don't tilt your head upside down and put it into a towel, that's how it gets frizzy.

I use this gel stuff called Curls Up, (it smells kinda funky but you only smell it when you put it into your hair) and I put it in when it's damp.

    And then comb it.

Then I go to sleep right away with it wet. (just put a towel on your pillow if you really think you need it.)

And then in the morning, put some mousse in your hair (i use Aussie) so that way the curls stay in place. and then maybe a little hairspray.
Dry your hair with an old cotton T-shirt instead of a towel. the loops in the towels get caught on hair and can damage your hair. It'll on reduce the amount of frizz though. I have the same problem with my hair. I just try to use non-alcoholic products whenever I can.
i work a small amount of body lotion trough my hair and it protects your hair from frizz!!

I need help!! I have really fine but extremely curly hair! Tips for products and avoiding breakage!?

I need to know how to get it to behave... I am using Pantene Curl Revive spray and Dove super moisturizing products. What works better than these?I need help!! I have really fine but extremely curly hair! Tips for products and avoiding breakage!?
Oh guurl, I hear you! I have A LOT of fine hair, that while isn't ';extremely curly';, it's extremely wavy, but not in a good way, so I blow dry the hell out of it. I am not a professional, but these tips might help: Do NOT use a metal base brush when blow drying. The metal gets TOO hot and your hair will literally burn (trust me! my one length hair became what was resembling a mullet at one point! Nightmare!) Use a big ceramic round brush and don't blow dry it right away! Do your makeup or something first so that it airdries a bit before you start drying it. As for product, I use Bumble%26amp;Bumble deep conditioning treatment once a week (It's pricey but lasts a long time if you use it right!). I use regular old Pantene shampoo, but salon recommended conditioner, because conditioner is so important, and then I always, ALWAYS put a very light styling lotion in it before blow drying to protect it from the heat. My stylist actually recommended a tiny tiny amount of leave-in conditioner as my styling product because it's not so heavy on the fine hair, but still protects it! I wish you the best of luck! It's a nightmare, but when you figure it out, you'll be thrilled! :)I need help!! I have really fine but extremely curly hair! Tips for products and avoiding breakage!?
Stop using pantene its the worst.

Try using Enjoy shampoo and Enjoy ';mask'; hair conditioner.( available at beauty supply stores)

Then after you wash, condition, towel dry and spray on Infusium leave in hair conditioner.
I would use aquage or bedhead they both work great for me the other thing you can do it get some cholesterol for your hair and follow the directions I use it about once a week.

Absolutely :) I have wavy and curly hair past my shoulders and my hair is partially layered around. So it's so much easier than straight hair, i just wash my hair in the morning every other day and just towel dry a little and walk out. It dries out really nice. I do not have to do anything to it or use any products.

    I love it.

I think having layers and using lil conditioner is good to go.
